Founding of bMC and start with a salvage project off Newfoundland. Establishment of an internationally active company with locations in Germany, England, Singapore, India, China, Mauritius, UAE and a wide range of services for the maritime industry. One of the world’s leading experts in maritime crisis management.

Maritime consulting & salvage expert

Worked as a nautical expert at Verein Hanseatischer Transportversicherer (VHT) and later as a salvage captain at TITAN SALVAGE (USA). Returned to Germany, including as Managing Director of VHT and later Commercial Director at TITAN SALVAGE.

First independence

Self-employed as a consultant in the maritime industry and as a globally active test cruise captain.

From 1991

Roots in seafaring

Internship on a container ship ignites a passion for seafaring. Trained as a ship mechanic and then studied nautical science in Bremen. Gained extensive experience at sea, including the acquisition of an unlimited captain’s license.

Born in Bielefeld, Germany

Early on, I was more interested in sport and computers than school. Later, I switched to schools with a focus on business and administration – the first step towards entrepreneurship.
